Keep the store in sync: Item mapping
Keep the store in sync

Item mapping

Mapping pairs each of your item IDs with a Laayo item. Do it once per store, by API or by hand in the console, and orders and sold out calls speak your IDs.

#Why map

  • Orders arrive with your item IDs in external_item_id, so they go straight to the KOT with no retyping.
  • Sold out calls can name items by your IDs. An unmapped ID comes back as not_found for that item.
  • Menu uploads match rows by your IDs, so a price change is not mistaken for a new dish.

#Fetch the Laayo menu

GET /v1/stores/{id}/menu returns the store's items, variations and add-ons with their Laayo IDs, prices, and the IDs you already mapped.

GET /v1/stores/9001/menu

#Send your IDs

PUT /v1/stores/{id}/item-map adds or changes pairs in mappings and unmaps your IDs listed in remove, up to 1000 of each per call. Send only what changes.

#Read the map

GET /v1/stores/{id}/item-map returns every pair for the store. Compare it with your catalogue to find items still unmapped.

#Map in the console

Open a store in the console to see its Laayo menu next to an input for your ID. The console suggests matches by name and price; accept them one by one or all at once. Filters show all items, unmapped ones, or ones with a suggestion.

#Keeping it right

  • When the owner adds a dish in the vendor app, it shows up in the menu with no external_item_ids.
  • When you add a dish in your POS, send your full menu as a menu upload so the owner sees it, and map it once it is on Laayo.
  • Sending a pair you already have just saves it again, so a full sync is safe.
Two stores of the same chain can share your item IDs; the store ID keeps them apart.
